President of American Medical Women's Association and author of "This Side of Doctoring: Reflections from Women in Medicine," Dr. Eliza Lo Chin reflects on her experiences as a physician, author, wife, mother, and leader at the 2009 National APAMSA (APA Medical Student Association) Conference banquet.
Dr. Chin received her M.D. from Harvard Medical School, an M.P.H. from Columbia University, and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she was actively involved in both the clinical and teaching programs.
Eliza is one of the most effective female physician leaders of her time. She is a past president of the American Medical Women's Association and one of the most open minded women in the profession. There are few people that can handle as much as I have seen her juggle and still be incredibly effective.
