Just a quick tone test dirty and clean channel. Lead work is set on vintage mode. Mind the playing though, hope you guys like the sound. Thanks for listening.

If you say so. You probably think your recto kills because your standing on top of it.

  • Rectoquest - what cab are you using. It looks like a closed back.

  • Let me just say this. Mesa amps are for pros who know how to actually set an amp. Its not your stupid peavey that is made for the masses. One day when you know what you're doing you too will own one. Please don't talk about something you know nothin about.

  • @eveguitars

Are you serious! I have a Recto-verb and it cuts through like crazy. Funny enough my rythum guitar player has a 5150 combo and my Mesa absolutely kills him. You do not know what you speak of.

  • @eveguitars

I don't have any of those but from what I've been hearing, I could agree on this.

  • They sound good recorded but in a live mix I always had trouble cutting through the mix, especially if theres a Dual Rec and something like a 5150 as the other amp. Because of the way they're voiced they just get lost.

  • I agree with you that Mesa has better amps than the Rec bit I think it's better than anything Peavey makes. It can sound really good if you know how to eq it.

  • I got a Peavey JSX at the minute. When I used to play live I used Peavey 5150 and 6505 heads with Marshall or Mesa cabs. I've had two Dual Rec heads, a Triple Rec head, a MK 4 combo and a Rectoverb combo. The MK 4 was awesome, maybe I was unfair, the Mesa Rec series are shit, other Mesa's are pretty good.

  • Well what kind of amp do you have that your comparing it to.
