LES MISERABLES has returned to the Barbican 25 years after it opened, seen by 55 million people around the world, it has become the longest running musical in history. This memorable edition in concert at The O2 has enough pace and passion to give you shivers of excitement and overwhelmingly moving scenes. Set against the background of the French Revolution and based on Victor Hugo's classic novel this is the story of Jean Valjean who is sent to prison for stealing a loaf of bread and is released after nineteen years. He meets and cares for a beautiful but poverty-stricken young girl named Fantine who has daughter Cosette. After Fantine's death Valjean brings Cosette up but he is haunted by Javert - a policeman whose search for Valjean has become an obsession.

  • @LaurenLeanne Phantom and Les Mis would work but Cats? Laaaamme... It freaks me out...

  • This isn't the French Revolution, the revolution that happens and fails in this show happens some fifty years later and is called the June Revolution.

  • i love the ugh-huh-ugh-huh-ugh-huh

  • @taftpoet13 I personally prefer Alfie by far. Then again, there's just something about Colm's voice I don't like. Can't really say why. Depends on the person, I suppose.

  • Am I the only one that believes Colm's performance in the 10th was far superior to Alfie's?

  • @jmdixon is begrudging change not a more realistic concept for a man in Valjean's position? The full time to change into the man he is for the rest of the musical covers years. I think if anything this performance is a better interpretation of Valjean's character than a worse one

  • @sykojoni each to their own. I think his voice is too weak for Les Mis

  • @AidanSimonBradley When he sings 'faith' or whatever word that was;) It's a Top C. And then he goes on to sing consecutive Bb's "Jean Valjean is nothing now"

  • The thumbs-down is Javert.

  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. IT'S EARL CARPENTER
