Joe and Eddie were incredible, crossing lines and making a place for themselves in history.
It would be wonderful to see Eddie do something of his own, currently. I want to see more! I want to hear more. What a duo!

This is one of Phil Ochs' most covered tunes, and I have never heard a better version than this, although the Mitchell Trio's is also very good.

@173staggerlee1 - Ochs is the CO-writer. The primary composer is Bob Gibson; the lyric of the song details his struggles with drug addiction. Gibson was very big in the pop folk world while performers more famous today like Ochs were still in school. Phil O. wrote a lot of great songs, but this is not one of them. Ryder may have covered it, but he certainly didn't write it.

Ochs? can anyone say Mitch Ryder 1962?

Wow, voices from the past! Where's Eddy now and is he still performing?

A brilliant flavor to their sound not heard since the Everly Bothers. The combonation of opera power and soulful jazz vocals blends like no other before or since!

I just loved these guys. I've not found a complete compilation in CD but I did buy the greatest hits. My album is so scratchy, you can't hear their wonderful harmony!

@jguth3 Yes "Hootenanny" the movie... the performance by Joe & Eddy is absolutely the best!

Wish I could find a copy of them singing "Scarlett Ribbons" . They sang that song better than anyone that I can ever remember.

They are without equal, I found them quite by chance, and must say they have impacted me more than any other act in musical history! It is my greatest wish that someone make a documentary about them, the most under appreciated folk group ever, hell , of any genre! Their music is so great no one can remain unmoved by it. I scoured the internet for any information about them and was moved to tears to find out Joe's untimely demise. Without a doubt one of the greatest tragedies in musical history.

I think the name of the movie is "Hootenanny", where they sing "There's A Meeting Here Tonight".
