Second part of a 18 minute performance of the piano music of PETER FEUCHTWANGER

TARIQA 1 and DHUN

These two pieces are part of the complete corpus of piano music by Peter Feuchtwanger, the distinguished composer, pianist and pedagogue. This uniquely evocative music has been recorded for the first time in its entirety by Haydn Dickenson. The album, EAST, has met with considerable critical acclaim.

DHUN (Study no 7 in an Eastern Idiom)was composed in 1992, and is the composer's own transcription of the piece he was commissioned to write by Yehudi Menuhin and Ravi Shankar, giving rise to their ground-breaking recordings together, WEST MEETS EAST

recorded live at St. Johns Notting Hill,
London, december 2007

  • @musicminded64 yes, this composer - with whom i had the privilege of studying and who revolutionised my musical life - has a unique and wonderful creative voice

  • @musicminded64 thank you so much....yes, the perils of lunchtime concerts in churches..... ;)

  • I love this video. That "barking dog" recorded somehow spontaneously makes it all the more natural. Such beautiful inspiring combination of sounds all in all. Thank you for posting.

  • That a piano can sound like this: awesome. Thank you very much for this way of music.
