Cloud computing is a term we've heard with increasing frequency recently.

It's the idea that our usual computing tasks are not run by the hardware in our computers, but instead on powerful servers connected to your machine via the internet.

Operating systems on netbooks and laptops are still firmly tethered to the hardware, with Windows 7 and Linux distros being the OSes of choice. Into this fray comes Google's Chrome OS, an operating system designed to drag laptops and netbooks into the cloud completely.

  • Chromium OS is a very ahead of time concept, for sure some day they will be dominant, but not now.

  • Google should get it's head out of it's ass, really? Together with Samsung Corp, and Acer Inc? hahaha hahahaha. Get real.

  • @TheVideoGamePad And what if you dont have a HIGH-SPEED internet connection on let's say THE BUS ? Onlive requieres high speed

  • @JustinAguon a FREE web-browser which you bought for MONEY :) pfffhahahaha

  • @fiandaca123 OnLive is the future as well as this. Many people also already use internet storage for files. It just needs a plug for external monitors, if you wanna watch movies at home etc.

  • @DestinyKnightX I never said it was a good Product. But i love the concept.

  • @SyupahSkeng Google Majel would work better. Majel is the name of the ISA that Google is currently working on for Android.

  • @fiandaca123 It could have been a great OS if Google put enough effort into the development of the Chromebooks instead of releasing them so early. Google Chrome, as it is now, is severely lacking in support from third-party applications, which also ruins the experience of having a Chromebook if there is very little to do except for browsing the web.
