UPDATE!!!!
Solution Found: This is a local server issue and can be easily fixed by adjusting your rates.
In console try the following rates:
cl_updaterate 101
cl_cmdrate 101
This should fix the problem.
_____________________________________________

Unusual "stutter-like" movement of AI and self in CSS using 20 bots, even tried 3 bots but get the same result.
FRAPS limits it to 30fps but on average i get 200+ which makes the stuttering even more noticable and incredibly annoying
All my games run smoothly (e.g crysis, far cry 2). Tried formatting and reinstalling Vista, latest drivers, even booted in XP pro yet it still stutters.

My Rig:
ati HD4870 512mb
q9450@3ghz
X-fi
4gb OCZ DDR2 1066
Vista x64

Any1 know how to fix it?

  • It's your network.

  • not network lag since the game is hosted locally on my computer with bots

  • watch the character movements carefully cos FRAPS limits it to 30fps where it is not as noticeable

  • Thanks man, it worked!

  • try sv_smooth 1

  • because u use fraps

  • @Dare994 Counter strike source caps the FPS at 250. You must have edited a file to get 350FPS!

  • thx, this helped

  • Uhm maybe this is on: sv_lan 1. put it to 0 or else stop download pr0nz :$:$ lawlz

  • thanks this only started being a problem when i changed my OS to 64bit

  • also if there higher difficulty they can act a little faster

  • Dude, if you've got a single core 1.5 Ghz CPU, the bots will still use the same mathematic algorithm as if you've got a Quad Core 3.2 Ghz CPU.

    Algorithm explenation for dummies:

    Has he thrown a grenade?

Yes/1 = Move away from the grenade

    No/0 = Move towards player

    That's just an easy example...

  • thanks for the solution! had the same problem with high end system.

  • Thanks for this, I was getting the exact same problem, and this sorted it.

  • what your FPS?

my PC: 1280x1024, high settings, -20 ping and 250-350 FPS

  • i noticed that the bots get smarter when u play for long period of time with them. they tend to know ur tactics and shooting style. I also noticed that if u have a really good cpu the bots are better and more smarter.

  • Rofl, have you even seen his rig's stats?

  • I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION AND ITS TO DO WITH THE LOCAL SERVER...pls see video description

  • no i have not found a solution to this. I think it may be hardware related. I think either my cpu or ram is damaged in some way. Sometimes it occurs in team fortress 2 aswell. I haven't played these games in a while. The last game I played was FEAR2 and that worked perfectly. I think maybe the HAVOK physics engine and the way it interact with my damaged cpu could be the cause for the problem in valve source games.

  • so`? play online not vs.bots

  • I noticed the same thing when I changed my rendering filter to trilinear from bilinear and my FPS went from 45-60 FPS (User created maps only!) to 70-150 FPS at a resolution of 1024X768 HDR off, High Models and Textures and everything else on low. My game still goes to 15-30 FPS on all of the "in box" maps and that is fucked up.

  • He mentioned it played crysis and far cry 2 fine, and that he receives over 200 FPS. in CSS, I'm sure it isn't his computer specs T_T

I actually have the same damn problem, though it effects other things like doors and MY movements (turning) as well, and it pisses me off. Did you ever find a fix for this?

  • its not your network , the bots ...

your computer is to low for so many cpu players , try with 5 bots and no lag

or buy better pc with more RAM and better cpu =)
