@mildrew38 It's because these V8 rev over 4000 rpm.

Great sound but the pitch of the sound is quite high for a V8?
-
Better than NASCAR.

that foot work an speed is bloody mean..

@19escort73 gricys Walkinshaw HRT 1990 VL bathurst winner had a 308 aussie V8, so saying it has got a nice exhaust note is an understatement.... its god clearing his throat.

@sextech hsvracer is correct the rotor's dont bloody move mate
-
wrong!!!
They hit the brake peddle cuz they have whats called floating rotors.
What it is I will explain. Street cars have floating calipers. Race cars have solid mounted calipers and the rotors move around. So when you have this the rotors will some time move and hit the pads at hi speeds and push the pad and piston away from the rotor surface. Drivers get in the habit of doing this so that when they brake hard the pedal does not go half or to the floor when thay hit the brakes at 290 300 kph

@vansoth it's not necessarily that nascar's so low tech. It's more of the fact that nascars generate so little downforce. Look at the massive wings on those v8s. stock cars as a tradition (and a rule) do not generate any downforce at all.

Yeah like the Alan Grice/Win Percy commodore that won in 1990. You should watch that if you haven't already.....talk about a nice exhaust note. Very nice. I might be a Ford fan but I love the sound of any V8 be it ford holden, or anything.....you just can't beat that sound
