Dan Bull - Take Me To Oblivion (feat. Baron Samedi) [an open letter to Bethesda Softworks]

Fallout: New Vegas is all well and good, but Dan Bull is having fantasies for some fantasy. He's joined here by fellow gamer and rap heavyweight Baron Samedi.

Lyrics:
[Dan Bull:]
This is a letter to Bethesda in which I beg you
To stick together a new Elder Scrolls and you flipping better
Otherwise I'm gonna pester you forever
Well, except when I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas this November
But please, we need another Elder Scrolls
If I don't get a hold of one I'll go out of control
Sure, Fallout was a whole different level and it was incredible
But it didn't have the visual elegance and mystic mythic elements
That lifted it through excellence and into sheer perfectionism
Transcendence isn't something I'd expect sitting next to computers
But what you presented to us is beautious
Playing Oblivion made me oblivious
To my surroundings, how can a game be this intricate
That after a thousand hours of play
I'm still enthralled with it all, now to this day?
I've found an escape from the Imperial Prison of every day living
So take me to Oblivion again, take me to Oblivion again
Take me to Oblivion

[Baron Samedi:]

Thanks Dan, I couldn't have put it better
Get it together, Bethesda, or we'll keep penning you letters
Being a vault dweller was special, but Wet was forgettable
So I'll never settle for anything less than an Elder Scrolls
Consumed by Blood Moon and swallowed by Morrowind
When I slip into Oblivion, I'm instantly lost in it
Escape the modern concrete office monotony
When I pop that DVD-ROM into the slot and unlock my dreams
Grab my magic hat, my daggers and the Wabbajack
Pack them in a saddle bag, and travel through these savage lands
It's mad depressing how obsessed I was getting
With checking out every chest to collect every set of weapons
I stand on the planet's edge and gaze at the hazy seas
It's crazy how ones and zeros behave so amazingly
Take me from these rainy streets, please
Take me to Oblivion again, please take me to Oblivion

  • After Skyrim came out, i couldn't even play oblivion. Skyrim was an upgrading of oblivion.

  • Why have I only just discovered this?

  • @QuiteUnequal I wish i could say the same thing, i never played morrowind.

  • @zyberpoo man, Oblivion had nothing on Morrowind's soul. There was a large falloff in that department for me in Oblivion. Still an unbelievably incredible game, but it wasn't the same. Skyrim honestly brought a lot of that, and is a nearly perfect game. But the greatest game of all time remain The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

  • hand me a towel there's red on the likes bar

  • @Ricochette77 wanna see Orsinium, or Tamriel once again!

  • @zyberpoo Skyrim is a great game, without a doubt. But Tamriel had much more life and beauty imo.

  • @zyberpoo Skyrim has more things to do, but Oblivion didnt send you on random crap missions. Everything had depth and an intricate story, especially the guilds where it feels like you deserve to lead, rather than it just being handed to you after the previous leader dies.

  • start a new game?
