Just returned from a trip from Arizona where I had a chance to test the capabilities of this knife. The micarta panels were very comfortable for all day use. The knife keeps its edge very well and was easy to sharpen. The coating on the blade was very durable and did not even blemish with moderate use. The new Kydex sheath I purchased from www.Knifeworks.com for $40 shipped. Overall I am extremely happy with the purchase of the knife and kydex sheath and I am sure this will be used for many years to come.

  • where can i find the cordura sheath at?

  • @geetar72 I've seen just the sheath on ebay once in awhile. You may contact RAT to see if they sell the sheath individually

  • what did you sharpen it with?

  • @PhillieBRidin just a regular sharpening stone

  • Hi, would you reccomend this knife for hunting(as I need a new hunting/survival knife, and I dont want to have to buy 2 knives.)

  • @RatifiedCow This is an excellent knife for both! I love mine and it has gotten alot of use so far.

  • can you make a video on how to sharpen the convex edge of it?

  • @ViolentKisses87 If you're looking at the RC5, check out the Bark River Bravo 1 rampless - quite a bit more expensive, slightly smaller blade, but if you want something different, with near custom quality, that's the one to go for. The price was the biggest question for me, but if you looka round on here, it is a highly respected knife for the money.

  • Also looking at the rc-5 but in the green blade because it is just so different and eye catching.

  • i have the rc-6 version of this and the blade coating just laughs at work i choped a whole pile of wood and there just a little smuging around the blade edge from were it was scaprd by sharpening

  • @urkingod which one did you end up getting and how did it turn out?. I am asking, because I am facing the same dilemma right now. Love the thick blade and glass breaker of the RC5, but also love the extra length of the blade on the RC6. Ugh.
