This guy has 6 pneumatic cylinders operating his arms. A few more will be added to control his head movements.

  • Is there going to be a video of this prop in your yard?

  • Unfortinuately, not this year. I was going to dress him up in a tux and have him play a full sized organ, but I ran out of time to program him. Hopefully next year.

  • if I may ask, what makes light-o-rama products better than other controllers out on the market?

  • I originally purchased a DMX program and converter box, as I was going to run it from DMX. Not user friendly, so I did some internet research. There were two systems I was considering, Dlight and Light-O-Rama. I decided to download Light-O-Rama's free trial software (something that Dlight did not have I believe.) The software was so easy to use, that I was immediately sold. Feel free to ask me about any other controller questions for your specific projects.

  • you are industrial desing? or whath

  • No, I used to be an electrician, and I also took a numatics class. Most of the things I design, I look at what other people have built, and by tinkering with different devices, such as the cylinders in the robot. I have made several mistakes, learned from the mistakes, and typically I am able to come up with a functioning item. It may not be exactly what I wanted, sometimes better, sometimes not acceptable at all. Ok, I will get off of my soapbox now.

  • Excellent job theultimateandy.

    Very well put together.

  • that is awesome....is he supposed to be dancing?

  • Unfortinuately, I do not have any plans for the robot. I wiil be putting together a how-to later on in the future. In the meantime, if you need video or still closeup's of the robot, or any specific questions about the assembly or where to get parts, let me know. I am more than willing to help out.
