This was probably my favourite Acorn game! Did anyone else do the driving around on the ground trick? If you sorta tilted the wings a bit on the runway, you could stay on the ground

I used to play this game as a child, I must have racked up hours upon hours in this game and I never once knew how to land properly or what the actual objective of the game was.
And it was the best fun ever!

@hoggler555 hey Dave, or anyone who might be reading this... can someone please tell me the controls, as i can't find a list of the controls anywhere!!!!
-
our school acorn had a demo of this back in 91, i used to love the plane crash animation.
hey am i nasty person if I found an emulator for the Acorn and downloaded this game?
-
thanks for this, loved this game. Think I once clocked up about 15 plane kills - I remember to this day how buzzing I was. Was it the Fokka plains or something the red ones that you got loads of points for for shooting them down? I used to get well into it after a while!

I haven't played this game, but there's something special about old games from the 80s and 90s

@hoggler555 AWESOME! To date, this is still the finest dogfighting game for sheer satisfaction and target rich environments I have ever played. I fondly remember blasting a bombardment balloon out of the air before ramming a tridecker

Absolutely brilliant game. Played this to death, and the 2 player dogfights were great fun!

i spent a lot of time playing this awesome game. might just try to fire up an emulator...

Thanks to your brother. I spent many great months playing this game. The missions were so cool.....i was only 5 or 6 but remember it like it was yesterday!
Well I'm proud to say that the author Andrew is my brother, who went on to design Stunt Racer and Starfighter 3000 along with Tim Parry. The only contribution I made to Chocks Away! was to write some of the mission briefings and do a small amount of testing. The days of a single developer making a major impact are long gone and Andrew now works in the games industry for a large studio. Regards Dave Hutchings

@hoggler555
And rightfully so, SR 2K, SF 3K and Chocks are three of the very best games on any system never mind just the Acorn :)
