Nice to know that the Japanese still practice the Bellamy Salute, most Americans have forgotten how to properly salute the Flag and have forgotten the original Pledge of Allegiance, also.
Monkey say, Monkey obey, Monkey see, Monkey do.

I wasn't relpying to you, gaijingunma. I actually meant people like jnale2000 or Trajedya84, who posted plain senseless comments. Interesting...me being annoyed by people like them seems to disturb you more than the fact, that jnale2000 calls every Japanese person "horrible evil people". I guess my writing was a bit harsch, but hey, as a person interested in history, comments like they wrote simply "hurt".
It is actually quite commical, in the... it's just so wrong to do this in Europe now sort of way. (cue Embarrassed laughter in the office)
Great vid... livened up a dull afternoon!

@socrateswept I'm glad someone else was finally amused by it. To them it's just a regular old Roman salute; I bet very few know of the Nazi connotations (which is the part that amused me).

It's also the Olympic salute, fools. I guess they were joking around wanted to be some sort of "olympic" sportsmen..you silly guys always think of Nazis, do you? What a shame..every little git thinks he or she is smart, because they see something seemingly Nazi-related and shout "uuuh, evil!" Shame on you folks, shame on you..

Yeah, what would I know about history with my history and law degrees. It may have originally been the Roman/Olympic salute, but it was co-opted by the Fascists in Italy and then the Nazis (the Hitlergruß).
And it's common in Japan for sports festivals/tournaments to start with the participants doing that salute.
