At about 7:00 in this presentation, it clearly says that the public key is always used for encryption only. However, another presentation (video BphO_ncnLPg) says that the encrypted hash digest of a certificate is decrypted using the CA's public key to then compare the digest with the digest the receiver computes on the certificate to verify it. So which is correct?

When I created this I was using the CompTIA definition which has changed since their newer exam came out. Previously CompTIA always said that the public key was only used for encryption and the private key was only used for decryption. That was their test world. Reality is that either can be used tor encryption or decryption. The newer CompTIA Security+ exam has embraced reality.
