Personally I think we should convet all the deserts into giant tree farms / crop farms. That way we produce all our stuff in places of minimal biodiversity and leave the forests to themselvs.

Yes there are cycles for example, the sun will go through warm and hot periods and affect the earth but these things normally happen slowly over thousands of years. lobbing 50% of the rainforest in less than 50 years is not part of that cycle. Ok the trees will grow back if we leave them to it, but more than likely the land will be used for cattle etc. Last time the earth experience a sudden change the dinosaurs vanished, do the creatures of the rainforest deserve the same fate?

Well I don't think man-eating dinosaurs are in man's interest...*sarcasm*
We aren't logging 50% of rainforests in 50 years...that's an extremely inflated number.
If evolution is true(personally I do not believe in evolution), then we should be fighting for our own survival! Not for some red-skinned poisonous toad...which is killing people...

Ok I mean no offence here, but if you dont believe in evolution you believe in god right? well if thats the case are you not taught to love everything in the world? including poisonous toads? if god created eveythng then the toad is just as important as we are? OR, was it god created the world for us to comsume? and forget the rest, I cant remember.. anyway.

I believe in evolution therefore every single species has had to spend millions of years to get evolve to where they are now... so why should humans be more important than anything else?

As imagens correspondem a Linha D de Nova Mamoré, ao distrito de Nova Dimensão, Jacinópolis e o município de Buritis. Pelo que conheço da região, as primeiras imagens são do ano 1992, aproximadamente.

There ought to be a death penalty for cutting down any tree anywhere. They're destroying the Earths' lungs: DEGENERATES !

You should think before you write such nonsense. What have you done to your own forests? Who's the world's worst polluters and responsible for CO2 emission? Come on, make a guess; it starts with "U" and ends with an "A.".. What a wanker!
