  • One problem with coming meltdown, you can't eat gold and it's worthless if you can't buy food to live on. Supply lines will go down and sources for food and water will be more valuable than any precious metal. So buy gold if that makes you feel more secure with your monetary assets but stock up on some basic foods to last you at least 3 months, a year could be better, to wait out what happens and hope that some normalcy will emerge before your food supply runs out.

  • save the fat giraf

  • Gold and Silver will be valuable after the monitary collapse but only for a short time. Then food, water and ammo will be your lifeline.

  • Gold and Silver will greatly increase in value; for a short time. Then it will be useless and food, water and ammo will be your lifeline.

  • Silver should be $85 per ounce based on historical gold/silver ratios. Plus who will have change for Gold. Silver is your best bet.

  • @LastReplaySC Forget fiction but study history of what happened during the Great Depression. Particularly how many people starved to death back then when food supply lines weren't as dependent on oil and coming from so far away. You really want to bet that in a police-state, you can bribe your way to food? Better to keep your head down and not be noticed for having gold to bribe with.

To be truly prepared, cover all your bases.

  • on the assumption that the world is based on the US centric economics, November or Q4 is the key time to note as it contains the US election cycle. After that watershed all bets are off.

  • @myspacesecrets I reckon you have hit it on the head. The problem i see here in Australia is the housing market slowing down as banks slow lending, which is happening. As this happens house prices will tumble with people unable to sell the houses, as this fall starts it will accelerate as more an more people are overleveraged, fuelling itself until it can not go lower i.e when only people with low low debt are left.

With this destruction of most of the capital, the printers will have to start.

  • @myspacesecrets

What is your recommendation for us Aussies?

As in % of dollars to bullion please?
