This is Amazing Grace - arranged Philip Sparke - performed by Robin K Langdon, euphonium

I made this recording using a yamaha practice mute plugged straight into logic on my mac so the tone quality is lost and it sometimes produces weird overtones.
This is by no means a finished polished product just a quick recording.

  • fantastif, could have been more contrast in phrasing though, but very beautiful :)

  • @Joey10Thompson10

Thanks. This was recorded a few years ago now whilst I was still at university. But not too bad considering it was done using a practice mute and backing track! Check out some of my more recent videos if you want. Personally, I think they are better!

  • scuse me for asking but who is that uniform at 0.35? it looks strongly like ilkeston brass

  • It's Ocean Brass (Southampton) (Used to be Solent Brass and Southampton Central I think, but merged ten years ago)

  • @rkl106 i didn't see in the description that it said you were using a practice mute. it sounds perfect then

  • beautiful. i have the same arrangement by spake. not sure if i'll ever play it. but you had great breath control and your low notes were very smooth. superb.

  • Thanks,

I think I worked it out as possibly being spanish,ut the translation was pretty similar for both.

    Thanks though.

  • just fyi but its prtuguese :]

  • Parabéns !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ok, so I put it into a dodgy translator and I think you said you want to see a video rather than photo?

That's a fair enough point, as it is the main point of youtube, but I don't as yet have a video of me performing it. As it says in the blog this was just a quick demo recording etc... I put the pictures in so people could see who was playing and at least get some idea who they were listening too.
