I put 3 Tablespoons Magnesium Sulfate(epsom salt) into 1/2 cup Distilled Water and divide it into the 6 battery cells.

Start with 200 ca and 12.20 volts
1 day later 250 ca and 12.25 volts
1.5 weeks later 450 ca and 12.40 volts

I tested it a month and a half later and it was stable at 450 ca and 12.40 volts.

  • OK ........ WTF is a "table spoon" ? If you're referring to the largest spoon in the silverware drawer, ........ do you level it , heap it , or what ? Join the metric system and make life easier for us all !

  • @Moir11 Save your breath and Google the conversion factor for a Tablespoon to whatever you want.

  • I would be concerned about the extra work your alternator is doing in trying to maintain the charge

level on a less than perfect battery. Perhaps it will be okay but It's not uncommon for alternators to go bad when they are working extra hard trying to maintain the charge on a weak battery.

  • @mypalrocco did you have the battery caps off while you were load testing?

  • @mman454 You're wrong. In fact, if you have a really weak battery and you want to charge it, it is RECOMMENDED that you take the caps off so the battery can vent. If you don't do this, there is a buildup of hydrogen in the battery which can cause it to explode. With the caps off, as long as the water level isn't low, there's practically no danger to charging or discharging it.

Anyway, you don't get much hydrogen unless you charge it at a high current.

  • @obieezx11 Thank you

  • @osurlosers

Thank you for your chemistry lecture.

  • @192ali1 yes i know ive saved a lot of batterys this way you get another 2 or 3 year out of them i think i had one of my batterys for 7 or 8 years doing it the way i said to

  • @obieezx11

How about in addition of doing what you recommended to do, we also add epsom salt after we pour back the acid sollution. Do you recommend this? If you have any other advise please send me an email. Thank you. a_jamily@yahoo.com

  • @obieezx11
