We did not install the electronic ringer in the phone. it was original to the phone. The phone is a remake. A Fake! Reproduction! and the maker chose to use a electronic ringer. The customer was ok with it or we would have changed the design. Thanks for your commet though.

I really don't know. We have not been able to cross the Ic. The Ic seems to only control the amplification for the receiver and voice capsule. The Test equipment is B&K 1045A Telephone analyzer. In the background we have B&K 1050 Wich is the big dad of telephone analyzers. Thanks for your comments. Dennis @ A1 Telephone

Nice phone, but putting a bird-chirpy electronic ringer in an antique phone really makes me cringe. I'd assume that your UK candlestick once had an outboard bell box (subset) w/ a nice mechanical ringer (same as any US candlestick).

Do you think if the chip was to go out that there could be an extremely close equivalent that would do the job nearly as well?
