it could b ur distributor my civic did the same thing even when i drive it almost feels like ur clutch is slipping when u drive it took it in and they reved it and said its the distributor changed it and all is better now but dont drive with bad distributor it will go out any time

lol its funny how everyone knows whats wrong 100 percent but everyone says something different.....ANYWAYS.. even though u figured it out set ur tps on that car right b4 1v liek .98 is almost perfect... b/c if its too low or too high( over 1v) it will make a difference event though it runs good after u cleaned the maf... it will make that much more of a diff. if the tps isnt set correctly now...

Its the mass air meter.I just replaced mine today.Its easy to diagnose.Disconnect the mass air meter.Itf it runs better,its the mass air.The mass air affects ignition,timing,and,airfuel mixture.A dirty fuel filter sound different.If its the fuel pump,it wont even run.
It actually was the MAF sensor. It was just dirty....figured it out after I ripped the whole intake system apart to clean it.
