  • you may want to remove that heavy metal case from your vtx and put a heat sink on it, as it generates a fare bit of heat, also you want to try to angle your camera so you have 2/3 ground and 1/3 horizon, you dont want it level as you will not see much of the ground when flying level, are you going to add an OSD, or at least a basic OSD that gives you lipo power measurements

  • @alfdoggit I like that idea! (Removing the steel case for weight. I may do that once I get a better idea about mounting it more permanently. Good call on the camera placement of 1/3 and 2/3, I'll make sure and try both to learn it's value. OSD will come in time, a few months or so due to budget. Thanks!

  • I like the setup! I really like the monitor! I have one the same size check out what I did with it to block out the sun and make it portable!

Just take the dash marks out :)

also just be cautious about what channel you use on the 900mhz some channels are illegal to use in the US.

  • @crazyTMAXXman Geek Box! Nice.... I didn't consider which channels are illegal :O Do you know a reference that details which channels broadcast on which frequency? I'll try to find one too, safety/legal is my #1 objective. Thanks!

  • When locating the cam in the canopy like that does it block some of your view?

  • @Exyator I did temporarily place it, and had to remove more foam to allow it a good view as it was blocking a good 25% of it.

  • when are u gowing to put on the planes for this plane and wat type of adopilot are u gowing to use

  • You should be a youtube partner ! :)

  • Why did you chose 1500mW?? Most people think that is overkill,(including me)

And I think your videos are beginning to be a bit too long...

  • There's no video description ;)

  • @MyGeekShowdotcom I got my lens from "rangevideo-dot-com", their lens mounted perfectly on the HK cam. I bought both a wide and superwide but I have yet to see which is the best for flying a plane. For driving a small lego rc car arround in my flat the superwide is definetly the best :-)

  • @sajtoscsoda Interesting, I hadn't considered that! Some testing may need to occur to see how much it effects it! Sounds like a good episode to do. Thanks for the heads up!

  • @ffleurey Very good call, I'll pay close attention to that when I try actually flying it. I'm still using the stock lens, where did you get your wider lens? I may order one in case I experience the same thing. Thanks!
