There is growing confusion over Kenyas participation at a luncheon hosted by us president Barack Obama for African leaders. The office of prime minister Raila Odinga has denied reports that the PM had been snubbed by the US president. It emerged last night that the PMs invitation had been overturned. So is Kenya becoming a pariah state?

  • It is not about what you or anyone thinks. It is your Kenyan government that does not recognize him as being Kenyan. The last time he was in Kenya the government ridiculed him as being "just a junior senator from Illinois" and therefore "he should not come to Kenya to lecture people on corruption and impunity!"

Besides, no single Kenyan voted for Obama. But there are those who tried to derail his chances by feeding Jerome Corsi and the republican party propaganda machine with utmost lies!!

  • he is half kenyan n he recognises tht . its ok if u dont coz we dnt care wt u think.

  • I agree!

  • Raila Odinga is a hot potato for Obama in US politics. It is wise for Obama to keep a distance from him for three good reasons:

    1) the attempt to paint Obama as a socialist

    2) Raila naming his son "Fidel Castro"

    3) during the height of the post election violence Raila claimed that Obama was his cousin on BBC interview. Now, I doubt whether they are related at all and if they are then the timing of his claim couldn't have come at a worse time. Obama did not claim leadership as his birthright.

  • The problem lies in the fact that some Kenyan leaders expected US dollars to rain in Kenya due to the Obama election! What we fail to understand also is that Obama is not an imperial president who's worrd is the law as it is ni Kenya. And to complicate matters, Raila was one big liability for Obama during his US presidential campaign and Agwambo still continues to be and will always be a big liability for Obama.

  • What business does Kenya offer? The name of the gave is natural raw resources which Ghana and Tanzania has in abundance. All Kenya can offer is a begging bowl.

  • Obama visited Kenya twice even before going to law school. His third visit was long before he announced his presidential candidacy. And please, he is not Kenyan! In fact Kenyan law does not allow dual citizenship!

  • To close the Chapter: there was a happy end. They met after all. This is the way it should be. As a human being I cannot refuse to meet my kinsmen, for the simple reason that my neighbours will think I am different. That is the highest degree of deceit.

  • not very wise of kenya to expect anything from obama only becouse his half kenya from his father side when he was raised in usa, he´s the president of american not kenya.
