@zohebislam786 Salam Alaykum wr wb, I've checked with a close friend who is studying Islamic History at the Islamic University of al-Madinah al-Munawarah KSA confirmed from one of his lecturers, that that it was Abu Bakr (RA) who made that compliment. Lieutenant-General A.I. Akram has also confirmed in the biography book called Sword of Allah - Khalid Bin Al Waleed, that it was Abu Bakr's (RA) statement.

@mcdudly00 I can't comment on behalf of why Abu Bakr Sadeeq (made that comment) because these were his words (there may be an explanation narrated by a companion that may explain, what Abu Bakr, meant by that comment), you will have to ask a knowlegable person who will be able to answer your question properly and accurately, I can't.
