So I haven't done LPs for awhile. That's partly because I haven't had it in me to do them, partly because I couldn't, and partly because I wanted to make sure when I could, I did them correctly. Basically, I ran into some problems in my life, and in short: Lost job, lost house, sold off every last possesion including car, packed up my 360, SNES, some games, clothes, and moved in with my parents. [who by the way live in Florida, I lived in Indiana]. I did find out I have a few health problems that medication helps with, and with that medication have cleaned myself up from other things in my life. If I could change my screenname on YouTube, I would. Hell, I might check that out in the near future. But back on track, one of the things I got rid of was my DVD recorder, which is what I used to do my LPs before.

Enter my Archos 605 WiFi. I have the DVR station for it, and it's currently my only means of recording. It does not take component, but it does take S-Video input. I am able to use it to record widescreen video, but obviously, it's still only 480p. I really wanted to push this to make certain it would work the way I wanted it to [I have used it before, to record the broken SNES footage]; so I recorded at the highest quality I was able to. I was worried about lag from the DVR to TV, but it was almost non-existent. And the video came out better than I expected. I did however run into a few problems.

There is no way to adjust the input volume/monitor it. Therefor my sound on the 360 was blaring on the recording, even though running through my television it was quite quiet. I had to heavily turnd down the gain and volume to counter act it, which didn't turn out well. Thankfully, this is something I can fix easily, and the exact reason I did this test.

As far as the voice recording goes, it was done live. There seemed to be an issue at one point, and the track skips [you can hear me go "f-f-from from" and it puts my synching off a bit. My microphone input emits a high-pitched hum, so using audacity, I did some post recording noise removal. Sadly, I did it a little too much and it drowned out my voice at parts. It garbled the sound and made it sound like I was living in a Pineapple under the sea.... Again, fixable, and the reason I did the test.

The third part of the test was to try out my new lack of time limit. I am one of the accounts that has the ability to post a video "longer than 15 minutes". My only restriction seems to be size (2GB). Now, this 1 hour video turned out to be 1 GB, so I know I can make long videos. Yet, it literally took me over a day to render this video [25:23:19 to be exact], so you won't see videos this long unless I get a new computer [which is why it took so long]. However, you might see videos about 15-20 minutes long, as I should be able to render those overnight.

Any suggestions or input I'd love to hear, so leave a comment!
