Tri Tôn là một huyện miền núi có diện tích lớn nhất và dân cư thưa thớt nhất tỉnh An Giang, cách tỉnh lỵ (Long Xuyên) 52 km về phía Tây, cách Hà Tiên - Kiên Giang 83 km, Châu Đốc 44 km, Lâm Viên - Núi Cấm 7 km.
Tri Tôn is a rural district (huyện) of An Giang province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 118,648.[1] The district covers an area of 598 km². The district capital lies at Tri Tôn and is 44 kilometres away from Chau Doc.[1] There is a sacred mountain system named Seven Mountains here where Buu Son Ky Huong's monks live. It is the largest and most sparsely populated of the districts in An Giang, being quite mountainous. It was the location of the Ba Chúc Massacre committed by the Khmer Rouge in 1978, which was part of a series of cross-border incursions that prompted a Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia.
