Thai men cutting TONGUES with Razors at Jae Vegetarian Festival, Thailand

http://www.thaipulse.com. Blood, gore, lots of bloody chests and faces at this Chinese-Thai festival called "Jae" or "Jeh" in Thailand. Thai men cut themselves with razors, knives, swords, spears, hatchets, axes and other weapons on their tongues, face, chest, forehead, back. They also stick metal rods through (pierce) their cheeks, neck, and shoulders. Some are possessed. A crazy parade you shouldn't miss if you come to Thailand in October.

i tink d owner of this video shud rename the title of this video. It is not a buddhist festival but it is the festival of the nine emperor's god in taoist religion. The practise in the video has nothing to do with Buddhism. Hope the owner can rename it so that it is not misleading those who watch this video..thanks.

You're right - sorry - I didn't understand... Here's what I said about this festival at my other video in a comment: Sorry - I've said on some of these Jeh festival videos that this was a Buddhist festival. It is not. These are Buddhists - yes. The festival is to remember some Chinese gypsies in Phuket that got well after praying to some gods of protection and after eating vegetarian for a long time.

This festival got nothing related to the practices of buddha teachings,so it's should not be named as buddhist festival,please don't mislead others when you are not sure of the practices of buddhism.

I'm not sure if that's right or not... they meet at the Buddhist temples. They have many crazy things going on AT the temples... I think it must be related to Buddhism in some way. Or maybe the Thai / Chinese flavor of Buddhism?

They believe that they can't be hurt because they're possessed by some spirits apparently. Really though, they just aren't cutting as much as you'd think because their tongues would be hanging in shreds - and they are not.

Yeah, really... that's what I felt like when I first started filming it. Then it became, well, normal... ha! If you can believe that. Thais' can be odd when it comes to festivals man. That much I've seen.
