i mixed water and bleach and sprayed the area with a large sprayer generally used for pesticide treatment. it worked for awhile, but like someone said here before, best to treat and seal it. try dryloc, it works great.

I work in a basement company for a living, and that is definitely NOT efflorescence. Efflorescence is a white, flaky powder. Seal the concrete and dehumidify the space to below 50% relative humidity. I like to use Concrete Treat for sealing over that hardware store paint. I don't think that mold is harmful, but it may be allergenic.

@ktarson Yeah, i bought a house with that crap growing, it look like cotton candy and some look like a giant spider made it. but what about the green and black mold? Whats the best way of ridding the mess?bcause i have children.

Yeah it's called "efflorescence".. look it up on google/wikipedia. It's totally harmless, it just looks cool. :)
