  • I just saw your videos (1/26/10). I think your playing is much better than the performances that won first place in the YouTube part of the Amateur Van Cliburn competitions!

  • I am deeply ashamed of having had to listen to this great performance twice in order to recognize it's depth and artistry.

Thank You for sharing Your most intimate feelings! I'm sure, I've known You for a long time!

By the way, I've used una corda, maybe, twice in my life :-)

  • Wow! Haha, no, I'm just a studious student with big dreams. Thanks for the compliments, though.

No, your English is not a problem. It's better than those of some natives, let me tell you! Thank you, also, for letting me listen to your music. It was a pleasure. :)

  • Thank you a lot, That RachGirl! I appreciate every your good-natured advice and agree 100%.

Your comments are so valid, accurate and professional that I guess who are you: prof musician? psychologist ?

Anyway, for me it was worthwhile to take part in this contest even for getting your advice, not to mention other aspects

Sorry for my limited English and thanks once again.

Rach: Wow. Wonderfully executed. As before, though, some una corda in some places would add good contrast. It would also suit my taste if the left hand rumbled a bit more in the opening. Otherwise, I have nothing to say. As the others have said, great musicality and expression; you clearly love what you do.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but you seem to be holding back - at least at the beginning. You have no reason to! Your musicality shows; don't let nerves impede your technique, because there are more than a few audible slip-ups there

At 4:50, could the A-flat broken octave be a bit more gentle? Think more woodwind than brass.

Overall, I think some more ingenuity with dynamics would add that extra contrast to your performance - especially if you dabbled with the left pedal more.

  • Chopin: I think the opening bars could use a little more legato. Yes, they are chords, but maybe just a hint of finger pedaling + "real" pedaling would give it that extra singing quality.

At 4:06, maybe you could use the left pedal for a more veiled, sotto voce effect. That, combined with a firmer RH fifth would make that top C really "ping!"

Love the blossoming of sound at 4:40 - you would really have a good tone if you opened up more.

  • Very beautiful and musical. Lovely rubato, thoughtful counterpoint. Bravo!

  • Gerb p Sigitai: Ačiū už laišką.

Esu Lietuvių kilmės bet gimes Kanadoje. Malonu klausyti jūsų skambinimą! Mano dar biskutį neprinokes.

Marvelous playing. While seeming effortless and completely in control with great passion your playing is clearly the fruit of years of dedication and hard work. All the best!

    Juo

  • Both pieces made for enjoyable listening. Glad to see you in this contest. All the best to you in it. Ed.
