  • basilnelson, pure artistry here made easier by the beauty of Norma Shearer. Thank you. One of my favorites. In high school my fascination for nostalgia led me to some books in the library. There I discovered Norma, Mae, Jean, and Ann. I still try to catch Norma's films on TCM especially those from 29-32. Her portrayal of Marie A. in 1938 is top shelf as far as I am concerned. Pure genious. Thanks again.

  • @stevesilk53 Thank you for your comments. There are other Norma Shearer tributes on my Channel and one in particular you may like. Key in the SEARCH box for MOVIE LEGENDS - NORMA SHEARER (MARIE ANTOINETTE)

  • oh lovely- love the music too baz she was so great in the women

  • @maceddy8 Thanks Di! I am planning more tributes to Norma Shearer in the coming months. BAZ

  • Your videos are among the very best things on YouTube. They are wonderfully done. I'm reading the new biography of Irving Thalberg, and didn't have a good mental image of Norma Shearer. Now I do. Thank you..

  • Thank you very much. Your comments are much appreciated and I hope you continue to enjoy my 'Movie Legends' series. BAZ

  • This is so well done. I love Norma Shearer. She was a terrific actress. Despite what early movie folks told her about her looks, I find her insanely attractive, pretty but accessible, seductive and glamourous but real. The music is totally right ; the simple violin and then the full on orchestrated section. Pure Shearer!!

  • I find Norma so sexy, love the hair, clothing, makeup and the lighting. It is a true shame that her legacy is much dimmer than it should be and she is not remembered as well by the mainstream. She also suffered mental illness during her later years which debilitated her. So sad, but a wonderful tribute to a beautiful woman. Thanks again Basil - hope you are well :)

  • may the memory of Norma live on.......

  • I sometimes laugh when I hear about girls now-a-days being so self-conscious when they see all the "beautiful women" in magazines. I laugh because I feel self-conscious looking at women from long ago not looking at modern women. Why can't I be as beautiful as they were?

  • 1:42 looks like Cher

  • She was very antimamted

  • So beautifully done. Thank you. Norma's my favorite actress of all time. So gorgeous, I'll always be infatuated with her.

  • A class act!
