Louis Vierne (1870-1937) Berceuse (extraite des 24 pièces en style libre) played on the organ of Leeds Parish Church by David Murray.

The instrument as it stands today is, in essence, a Harrison; the firm conducted major work on the instrument in both 1914 and 1949. However many of the stops heard in this video were added in 1859 by the great German builder Edmund Schulze.

  • Nice performance, nice tempo. Good job!

  • un peu trop lent à mon avis, c'est une berceuse mais quand même...

  • That was beautiful David, I play this piece too, just a little differently but I love your tempo and registration. Well done. John

  • Very nice! And pleasant on the ears

  • The rocking of a cradle may be enhanced in phrasing by pairs of bars (as in the French eduition).

"Dodo, fais dodo" (in modern French Dodo is not an extinct bird).

Have the feeling that a bit more swell-pedaling and playing with note values would be a useful way of cpmbatting the awfully dry acoustic.
