@avianmaster Its really not an agree/disagree thing. By the way this is a mid engine. Rear and mid engine cars do have better performance.

@avianmaster Yes. I do see what you're trying to say.
But Mid engine vehicles give a bit better balance than rear-engine vehicles. I mean, look at the early Porches. Those things are notorious for oversteer. The Yellowbird in particular has a reputation for killing it's drivers. Ever wonder why Porsche switched to AWD? ;)

See this is why i think America should look a little deeper in rear mounted engines. Now dont get me wrong i LOVE a vette as much as the next guy but rear mounted cars just have better overal performance. Anyone who agrees give me a thumbs up.

That is why the GT40 swept LeMans in 67 and won 3 years in a row, something my beloved Grand Sports never could do.
With a normally aspirated 427 and a 4 speed the GT40 turned over 225 MPH way back when...that is why Ford brought back this retro supercar in its current form.
A current GT with the right gearing and powertrain would do just as well as the Vipers and Vettes...they are great cars that are too expensive up front which is why they are largely ignored.
