I definately found it thought-provoking. The point is that historically these specifically underrepresented communities have not been considered important opinions to hear in this realm, but now that "modernity" if being faced with an enviromental impediment, meaning that the earth we've been destroying for so long is threatening to now destroy US--- thier opinions and insight are suddenly valued.

We dont need modernization it is just destroying the natrual enviroment indigenous people been suffering for hundreds of years trying to live in this civilization that has been forced upon them the bottom line is that indigenous people are better off living their indigenous ways but cant really do that any more because modernization is killing their resorces.. and have no choice but to suffer and this civilization still does not care it just shows what this world has become

you are right, 'civilize' people use way too much energy, we have a huge footprint on the earth and it is easy to see that it adds up.. but we like to have everything under control.. AC/Heater, hot water, etc ... we fail our long term impact on the earth
