Three of D&Hs beautiful Alco PA-1s lead a fantrip in 1973 to Lanesboro, PA and the famous Starrucca Viaduct. The final minutes are along the Corridor with a few GG-1 led trains among others. Thank You for watching!

  • this makes me sad :( i want the old trains to come back,i dont want to have to go in my train room on my train set to see this stuff! i wana see the real thing!!

oh yeah and that caboose at :44 i have in HO scale, and DAMN they were movin' pretty good

I wholeheartedly agree! I took so much for granted back then and now look... all the great rail lines are bike trails! The "personality" is gone from the railroads. The only place I have to recreate the fantasy is on the HO layout...until time travel is perfected!

D&H was still a class act back in the '70s with these PAs and the Baldwin Sharknose locomotives. The employees were friendly, too. Sure wish I had better recording equipment back then but I'm glad I have what I did get! The people that do my 8mm to video transfer seem to get it too dark!

    Thanks again!

  • They just dont produce the tax revenue... So now were stuck with shit box cars that cost a fortune and are the worst investment, just a money pit. We need an all inclusive solution to transportation not just rubber wheeled junk... Think about how other countries use practical means for transportation solutions' you will always see trains included in the list. Yet the dollarTocracy see's more tax revenue per mile on the highways and flyways. Not to mention more direct control over your ass.

  • Indeed they were a class act! Got to see all 4 PAs once, and chase the sharks all in a week, glad I saw them in their prime.

  • @gmpullman i live on a line of the D&H that is now referred to ad the Battenkill or the Greenwich & Johnsonville,it is a combination of both lines, one line the Battenkill went from Greenwich Junction to Eagle Bridge, and the other was greenwich to the Thompson mill just before the bridge that crosses the hudson.and for a short time they were combined, and the tracks to whitehall were still there, and they would run there little ALCO RS-3 up through to Whitehall.now from Salem to WH are gone!:(

  • Those PAs were really clean, I enjoyed watching!
