Until today their favorite toy was a straw. We found a foam rocket from a childs toy. It wasn't out there 5 minutes and one of the owls captured it.

  • are they really all this playful? i want one D:

  • Yes, they really are! At least when they're very young like this and they are trying to learn how to catch prey and fly, etc. When they're adults they don't really do that much during the day but you can certainly hear them at night. Then when they have babies they're busy catching food for them all day and night.

  • awesome 5 star and a fav! Good job!

  • awe, thanks for the stars! and the fav.

  • burrowing owls are the citest and funniest of em all

  • I have to agree with you. Although I think I'm bias because they're right in my yard. Looks like they're in the process of nesting, I'm expecting babies again in about a month. yeah me!!! Hope to get better videos.

  • Right at about ten seconds there when it flops over... that is heart-meltingly adorable.

  • omg its so cute

  • That is so damn cute

  • Burrowing Owls seem to be the most curious. Deep thinkers.

  • I had to check out the Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Thanks! Looks like some great books. Although I haven't read them, I'll bet you're right. The name "Digger" would go with burrowing owls They're the only owls that dig their homes. I think I might name one of the kids that, I'm always looking for tips.

  • this burrowing owl is so cute it reminds me of digger from guardians of ga'hoole books
