I wasn't aware (back then nor now) that letting the blocks land increases the score. Even if it does, would it make up for the fact that, by waiting for stacks to land, I screen clear slower and the deluge has more time to speed up?

By better scoring" I was thinking about the extra meteos you can add to the launch pile (while your stack is going to the floor) and the higher multiplier you can reach by having more weight and more ignitions.
I now wonder, if those extra points are worth the time it takes to repeat that strategy... yeah, actually, I think that, yeah.

Screen clears are 10k a pop, though. Those tend to be your biggest source of revenue.
