"Make Me Smile" by Chicago, Drums cover by Jonathan Finch

This is a loose cover, not intended to be a duplication of the original drum track we all know and love. Just my gut feel on how this song moves for me.

I used to be on the road continually, no day job. But that was over 18 years ago. When I got off the road I stopped playing entirely and only recently got my drums from storage and set them up (couple or 3 years ago). Right now I only play once every few weeks or so. I'd like to start playing a little every day again. Actually I've been kicking around the idea of getting in some local band to play weekends. There's nothing...NOTHING like playing drums on stage, surrounded and inundated by sound pressure. I do miss that quite a bit.

Anyway, I've seen how brutal some of these drummers are when commenting on other players on YouTube. Go easy on me, haha, I've been out of the business for almost 2 decades.

Hope you like it. I enjoyed doing it. I always enjoy it when I play. And I'm probably an idiot for not playing more.

Dude you ROCK !!! Excellent job! I've been working on this song for an audition for a week and am nowhere close to having it down. I saved it for the last of the 6 I had to learn, thinking it may be a bit more difficult and I was CORRECT !
