  • A true tribute from a song that sums everything about Fred Astaire - the first in a long line of great performance artists the kennedy has honored in 30 thirty years!

  • A Chorus Line...sheesh, what a disappointment that clearly was for Astaire. LIke watching any lineup of Rockettes...

  • who is th e1 bama that didnt like this

  • I just love him so much! What a gracious, lovely man!

  • @vwsmusic: Long gone, alas.

  • @YouzTube99 By any chance, did you happen to record the 1991 KCH Tribute to Katharine Hepburn, et al?

  • bigjoe, I'm glad you've enjoyed them.

KCH celebrate the best and the recognition is (usually) richly deserved.

However, the producers have a very limited time to stage one-off performances. These often suffer in comparison to the special qualities exhibited in the originals, qualities which are the very reason these folks are honored; this one is a clear example of that.

I just record the KCH shows and buzz through the bits that I feel don't really work - just like any other show. ;o)

  • I do not agree with you that the KCH is a tradition of embarassing performances. I have seen some wonderful performances through the years

  • I'm so glad people are posting these award clips! all the awards given to fred were way b4 i was born! Would've been nice to watch it live but oh well....

  • Great tribute to an great gentleman lord of the Dance Mr. Astaire

  • Mr. Astaire introduced more songs that became standards.

Also, he had the greatest song writers of all time. He was the best.
