she didn't measure with a(T square) you must use a it to measure the collar from the back of the neck , it may not fit correctly , because of the slope of his back , in fact it may not even fall properly at the seat because she did not measure it correctly , this woman is not a Taylor she is a seamstress.

doesn't this defeat the purpose of a custom made suit being that you're getting one to replace your old probably ill fitting suit (hence the tutorial) and therefore shouldn't be taking measurements off of it?

only if you work for the fbi or any intelligence service. cause sometimes they use stretch fabrics for durability so they take half of the stretch length and subtract that from the final measurement.
