"Heard It From Heaven Today" (public domain ca1865)

Fret Not Gospel at the Noe Valley Ministry for the 2008 San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time Festival. This song is really one of the few slave spirituals that is considered a Chrismas song. Like many slave spirituals the tune is an Irish fiddle melody from back then. Add to that two banjos, two guitars, four voices, a dude on a snare, you get this train-wreck at sunset.
Song 12 Recorded - February 8, 2008

We play, what could be called Americana gospel, the old-time roots music from the traditions of the black and white rural American churches, plus a few of our own.
