  • @EllinikiKardoula "mathe istoria ...etc...etc" An overpowering argument; and one that is frequently put forward every expert who studied Greek telephone directories inside out in the 1950s - those that passed Degretsia's mother censorship that is.

Άλα το!

  • @EllinikiKardoula "OUR"? So, you are many! Fascinating! If you were not incontinent geriatrics, and could find about half a dozen more IQ70 supporters, you could have formed a footbal team - the Degretsinis. Get it?x3+!x3

  • @jjgreek1 the real thieves are the royal family and Its called Identity theft BTW Old people care about the passe monarchy

  • @bawlmerbuoy1 people who support the monarchy are just old and tired our problem was joining the E U or as I would put it the I O U

  • Amazing video.. im sorry about the discriminating comments.. my video about Queen Anne Marie's daughter Princess Alexia, gets terribly thrown under the fire.... i dont even know what to do but stand by and be proud of what i did accomplish :)

  • @BritainiaNumberOne I refer you to the Duke's BBC interview (9/6/11) where he stated that neither he is nor he ever felt Greek. He also spoke in the same way when asked whether he identified himself with Britain. He was amused by the question and his answer was that he always felt that he was a member of the Danish race. The title of the BBC programme was "Prince Philip at 90".

  • @BritainiaNumberOne I hate to disappoint you regarding the Duke of Edinburgh. He most emphatically stated that he never considered himself Greek in a BBC1 programme, titled Prince Philip at 90, that was aired in June 2011.

He has no memories from Greece, and can not speak or understand Greek. He was rushed out of Greece as a baby with his mother after his father narrowly escaped the firing squad for high treason.

Greeks wouldn't have heard of him had he not been E's husband.

  • @IstvanN1961 Regarding your statement that people get the government they deserve:

Indeed, but they have the option not to vote for the same government again, should it prove unsatisfactory.

Interestingly, monarchy proved successful in Britain, because the British nation evolved around monarchs.

You can also say that people get the kind of monarch they deserve. The British proved that to be the case - e.g. most spectacularly with Charles I, and James II!

  • 1) The people have to support a Monarch for the monarchy to work.

    2) Many countries have had fine non-native monarchs (as well as bad).

    3) Modern monarchs are basically symbols of unity and culture, as most have no poltical power.

    4) Constantine's biggest mistake was trying too hard to be a political King. He should have just been a figurehead and let the the politicians screw up, which they did after he was overthrown.

    5) Sadly, people get the government they deserve.
