Prospective apprehension of an untested individual riding the Interstate on a second hand tour bus, awaiting the first trial of their talents in a Northern Nevada Lounge...or a long,tortuous,languid Airline flight; anticipating union with your karmic soul-mate in a discounted but decent Hotel Room subsidized by lost wages & diminished dreams. A song that suggests much more than it REVEALS. An example of an anthem whose stature expands in meaning/impact with repeated listens & the luxury of time. An ethereal, semi-comforting, soaring allegory. While Hollywood, New York or Las Vegas would be the typical Title destinations for so many writers relating a tale of the intentions, hopes & aspirations of so many artists,performers, gamblers or dreamers; REM spins the palette by staging the apologue in "The Biggest Little City in America.
