Very passionate singing in my opinion. The Lord is pleased at things like this.

this is one of the few songs that does not belong in a PB hymnal Going over Jordan in the Bible is a type of baptism and entry into the church kingdom.
If you are looking to have a family reunion in glory you are hoping for the wrong experience.I have no desire to meet classmates. that is what class reunions are for.

Wayfaring Stranger is number 254 in "The Old School Hymnal 10th edition", number 72 in the "Harp of Ages", and number 714 in "the Good Old Songs" . Our home Church uses the "Primitive Baptist Hymnal, 2nd Edition" and it is not in there. But when we are out visiting Sister Churches or at Association Meetings if it is in the songbook they use we sing it during worship service. I have never heard anyone say it isn't scriptural before.

I've been a PB since 1955, I've heard the first song about 50 years ago, but not recently, I've not heard the second song at all that I remember, I used to lead the third song.

@kayluvGod I've been a PB since 1955, I've heard it, but not in the last 50 years probably.

I am primitive baptist and never heard this song in my life.

The song I was referring to was "Wayfaring Stranger." I hadn't listened to the video all the way through until now. The other songs we sing.

Where is that church in the photo located? Definitely somewhere in the South - those are Loblolly trees in the background. I'm guessing NC, SC, or GA?

I'm an Old Line Primitive Baptist; most Old Baptists do not sing this song because it's not scriptural.
ricstewart reminds me of the spirit I'm currently missing out on. The pictures are from SW FL.
