I'm just gonna call them Chris and Heap for understanding. I see this video like the room is in Heaps head, and in that "closed" door is Chris, talking to Heap all the time, tempting her to go to the river with him. And Heap who looks to be a stressed out worker, goes insane of the stress and Chris´s tempting, so she breakes the door to the room where Chris is and gives in to his tempting, and drowns herself. That's one of my versions.

@RemembranceChannel: I like your interpretation. I've always thought this song as not so specific (concerning the cross-dressing) but just a man struggling with insanity within himself. He has a "secret friend" telling him what to do in his mind constantly and strives to suppress the voices that are telling him to drown himself. He feels hopeless but his friend promises him escape in death.

I get it this song is about a man who has a secret side to himself his " secret friend " and this secret part of him likes to cross dress but because of fears and society he hides it that's why when hes a guy he looks like a girl and when hes a girl he looks like a guy and when he goes to the river with his secret friend and by swim forever he means jump in and drown and they will be together forever because he will be dead
