this is the car me and my friends built for class...Now we only had HDF board to use and CDs and some other random parts...we had the fastest car in the class so dont be too critical...its a tricycle (thats three wheeled for all you who failed basic math) and is controlled by a single servo in the front of the car...this test was close to our fastest time of 6.65 seconds.

  • Cool video, it looks like it's running great! I have to do a similar project, how did you made the sail and the bearings?

  • @oboi2104 This was a little while ago, but the body is made from what i believe is HDF board (i think its like high density fiber board) something like that, the wheels are made from CD's. I believe what we did was hot glue a smaller plastic bead into the larger whol in the CD so it would balance correctly and used pieces of wire for each "wheel" as the axel. Once put in place we used pencil lead to lube the axel, as u can see, worked like a charm. the sail is just some painters plastic sheets

  • if u have anymore questions feel free to ask and good luck!

  • OH one more thing, we made the sail frame out of wooden dowels.

  • thats easy, put the sail side ways in the right degree like a windsurferssail and let the car go 130degrees corner from the wind it will go even much faster

Just a windsurfsail mounted on a skateboard will get you at 80km/h+

  • actually not really did u even read the parameters of the project? we werent allowed to use any premade components (such as a skateboard or a windsurferssail) we were only given 1 motor to run the steering mechanism, and we had to fashion our own bearings and wheels for the cart. all we had was medium density board and some dowels, plus anything we could scavenge from our houses. if its so damn easy why dont u build one ill give u the parameters and you can make ur own video
