Another important tip is to pick a good speech and practice in front of the mirror. One of my favorites is the " Sermon on the Mount " found in the Holy Bible in Mathew chapter 5, verses 3-27. @ArchHighLordOmega your own speech as well in this manner. It is also helpful to speak to your crowd as if they were just 2 or 3 close friends with whom you were having an important discussion, of which you are absolutely convinced you are the best authority, and find it of VITAL importance to convince your friends to your particular train of thought. I hope these add to the great tips Ms. expertvillage has given. Sorry about the order of the comments, you may have to read the last one first! :)
