It has been ONE YEAR since we moved to Abu Dhabi. I share some of my reflections on the changes I have gone through from thinking all Arabs hate me, to waxing poetic about Sheikh Zayed Mosque. All fear has dissipated and I am now comfortable in my new home, living among my fellow Abu Dhabians of all ethnicities and religions.

  • Hey

  • I'd love to be rich and from UAE.. The guys I knew at University in the US were great to hang out with. They loved to buy cars.

  • Amazing =)

  • Welcome to UAE and you seem like a very intellectual person and I love the way you explained about the censorship, how it is made to protect the local culture its so true!

  • So WELCOME to the UAE

  • I absolutely LOVE your videos. I'm so fascinated by westerners who live in the middle-east. Having lived in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi for a couple of years, I really enjoyed my time there. It takes a little getting used to, but that applies to every city.

Westerners NEED to travel to the middle-east to learn about the culture as opposed to watching FOX news, hahaha. Thanks for entertaining us, and keep them coming.

  • Well Keep talkin'- I'm a listening!

it's been said many times, many ways...but I'll say it again...you're awesome and I'm learning so much. I have had the same views as you pretty much about the Arab world- why wouldn't I? NPR is about the only "balanced" media source feeding us information about that side of the world.

Loved the airport videos- Jeff is very videogenic ;-)
