Usually the power pin of the plug (the thin black wire) goes straight to the thick black wire at the battery and acts as a trickle charger wire when on the road and plugged into the tow vehicle. So yes, the thick black wire on the trailer and the thin black wire of the plug are connected together. That is where the power comes from. Does this answer your question????
how can the first phase of this work? where do you connect power from the battery to the trailer to get power from the power pin of the connector? am i missing something?
