ITALPRESSE automatic veneer lay-up system

This video is featuring Italpresse automatic veneer lay up system.
Glued core panel handling unit and top/bottom veneer sheet handling unit run on the same runways granting precision of reciprocal positioning of the two units.
The top/bottom sheet handling unit collect the veneer sheet from the stack previously placed over the roller conveyors.
Positioning of the veneer stacks is made in reference with two 90° corner fences by means of fixed fences.
While running from collection to dropping position, the suction cups handling unit centers the overlay sheets by means of suitable actuators moving the suction cups frame as required.
The bottom sheet is placed over the composition belt. In the meantime the glued core panel handling unit has collected the panel from the disc conveyor by means of grippers with thin panel holding device.
The grippers are self aligning.
Therefore when the core panel is placed over the sheet, alignment is automatically assured.
While the gripper unit is handling the panel the suction cup unit has collected the top sheet and is ready to lay it down on top of the core panel.
Completed sandwich is then driven into the press.
