How the west was won is definitly the best western movie trough all times. I just love it. Shown it to some friends and they too love it.
The scene with the buffalos is magestic!!!! one of the greatset scene ever, considering that they didn´t use computers and blue screens

The "No Goodbyes" theme that starts at 4:09 is lovely, and although a Newman original could easily be an American folk song.

La Conquista del Oeste, por fin la he encontrado, es que solo recordaba el apellido de la familia, y del nombre ni por milagro me acordaba. espero que este la mayoria de los episodios, una lastima que no esten numerados.
desde mexico un saludo

I wish movies like this were still made-one of the most awe inspiring movies!

Who were the leading man, leading lady, supporting actor and supporting actress that appeared in the most movies that were candidates for the Oscar? John Wayne's filmography shows that he was in a very large number of movies that won or were nominated for at least one Oscar.

@ianrobertson351 My kids are fed up with me as well. I have gone to IMAX in London and seen some films, the Dark Knight was wonderful, but you are right, when the curtain opened, and Leo roared, and the overture started, we wern'y watching a western, we were transported into the old west. If you visit the Prince Edward Theatre in London's West End go intom the circle there is a small alcove with prints from HTWWW. I saw them last year when I saw Jersey Boys. Prince Edward was Casino Cinerama.

@rogiet3 I think IMAX ix good but nothing like CINERAMA. My kids are fedup with me telling them all bout CINERAMA and HTWWW. One day I hope to to take my kids to a CINERAMS showing of HTWWW. The annual Bradford Film Festival have a widescreen weekend and some years show HTWWW in 3 pannel CINERAMA. Bradford is only a few hundred miles from where I live and is one of very few 3 Pannel Cinerama theatres in the world.
Can't wait till I see it how it should be viewed once more.
I was lucky enough to see this film in cinerama when I was a boy and it was just jaw dropping.
