@lilbluehersheykiss It's quite different from His dark materials (which, I have to agreed, is awesome, better than Eragon, but that's not the point). My point is that CP has is own way to describe it, it is not a copy of Pullman's, he has put something from himself in his books and they aren't just a copy of something else.

Its obvious :consciously or not Paolini's borrowed a lot of his ideas from books like LOR,and Its also undeniable he's been inspired by some words from Tolkien's "invented"languages.But I think he's put sth more in his story,the link between the Rider and his dragon for example, he described it in a really moving and inspired way!That nd many other thgs make his story unique and maybe not a masterpiece but a really good one which can transport the reader elsewhere,and that's the point of fantasy

He came to my school a few days ago lol he came for like an hour and we spent like a month decorating the school.. lol did you know in his first draft, eragon was named kevin??? hahahahah also, he got the name eragon from a game that he lost on like cod or mw or something like that, the guy who beat him was named eragon
